Our justice system is the foundation of American society and what makes this country a model for the world. But it doesn’t serve its mission unless it works for everyone. Courts today are filled with people whose lives are in crisis and who, without legal information or assistance, are trying to get help with basic life necessities: safety, shelter, support for their children. MJF funds organizations that help people get those basic needs addressed, restoring their ability to be productive members of their communities, making the courts more effective for all court users, and building public trust in the justice system.
